Regardless of whether white, red or green biotechnology is being considered / referred to, the need for chemical know-how and chemically made research reagents is a common feature of all sub-branches of this comparably new industry.

However and in contrast to the classical pharmaceutical companies, many biotechs can not rely on substantial chemistry in-house ressources. For instance, we synthesized a special glycosyl donor for a BioTech company; we protected functional groups of purchased substances in order to make it suitable for a biotechnological process; we supply starting materials for an enzymatic reaction.
